Regulations

In the growing global economy regulations are becoming more and more a necessary evil that all companies must comply with. If you wish to market your product(s) to specific market (country) you will come across a set of standards/regulations that your product and/or service may need to comply with. As the markets are starting to regulate and control products, it is becoming a challenge for companies with multinational markets to understand and implement all the applicable regulations.

To assist these companies with there global approval process, participating countries have developed "Schemes" , "MOU's" and other working agreements to assist the free movement of products and to make the approval process easier.

Just recently, the IEC EMC Scheme has been developed between approximate 73 participating countries. The EMC Scheme is very similar to the IEC CB Scheme. More information can be found at www.iecee.org

Another good source for finding out the requirements for your market is the "International Telecommunication Union (ITU) " www.itu.int
